Knit & Natter

Louise
Minister for Crafts: Louise

Knit & Knatter is open to everyone and it’s a great place to get to know people a bit better in a more laid back environment, where there is more time to chat while we are not enraptured by one of our captivating speakers.

While the premise of Knit & Knatter is that of a knitting subgroup, we welcome everyone to come and join us, even if you just want to come along for a chat, something to eat or a nice drink in Leon. If you would like to learn to knit, we can pair you up with an experienced knitter who will show you the ropes.  All crafts are welcome and in the past we have had crocheting, quilting, embroidery and many other things, so take your pick!

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Leon at Spitalfields. You can check the next date in ‘Upcoming Events’.

Past projects have included:

  • Innocent Big Knit campaign – knitting or crocheting woollen hats for juice bottles to help raise money for Age UK
  • Knit Hope – knitting or crocheting neon squares for Australian visual artist Kate Just’s giant Hope banner. You can watch our interview with her here.
